Apple has unveiled its first dedicated smart home display, HomeView, alongside an updated HomePod Mini speaker, a new Apple TV 4K and a range of smart security accessories.

Announced at the company’s “Welcome Home” event on October 13, HomeView is priced at $299 and features a seven-inch Liquid Retina display, a built-in camera for FaceTime calls and support for controlling compatible smart home devices. It can also display live security camera feeds and personalise its interface for up to six household members.

The device supports Apple Intelligence features through a compatible iPhone, with availability scheduled to begin on November 13.

The new HomePod Mini 2, priced at $149, features Apple’s S10 chip, Wi-Fi 6E connectivity and a new “sound glow” effect that changes the speaker’s top lighting to complement album artwork. Shipping is expected to begin on October 30.

Meanwhile, the updated Apple TV 4K, also priced at $299, adds four far-field microphones for hands-free Siri commands. It can also provide personalised entertainment recommendations when paired with a compatible iPhone. Availability is scheduled for November 13.

Apple also introduced a Home Collection of security products developed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric, including indoor and outdoor cameras, a video doorbell, a smart lock and thermostats. The cameras support Apple’s HomeKit Secure Video platform.

The launches expand Apple’s smart home ecosystem, although several AI-powered features require compatible iPhones.
