Bangladeshi actor Apu Biswas has been stranded in Nepal amid severe floods and landslides that have disrupted road and air travel. She was in Nepal for the shooting of her upcoming film “Shikar” and is currently safe in Pokhara.

Speaking from Pokhara, Biswas said the highway connecting Pokhara and Kathmandu had been severely damaged and could take several weeks to repair. She said a vehicle had been arranged to take her to Kathmandu, from where she plans to fly back to Dhaka on Friday.

The disaster has killed at least 165 people, while hundreds remain missing in Nepal and neighbouring Tibet. Nepal’s disaster agency reported 823 people unaccounted for, including at least 579 Nepali and foreign tourists.

Biswas urged her fans and well-wishers not to worry and asked for prayers for her safe return to Bangladesh and her child. Other members of the “Shikar” team were also affected.
